Setting: Occupies a knoll on the prairie about 300m from the N valley rim of the Red Deer River. This is the highest point in the vicinity
Brief: A 4m diameter central cairn encircled by a 14m diameter stone ring which has a 1m opening in its E side. Two parallel 2m long spokes extend out from the opening, with scattered stones at their ends. There is a 1m square notch out of the ring on the S side, and a 3.5m diameter stone ring immediately adjacent to the SW side. A 5 by 3m cairn containing at least 1,000 stones is 5m west of the main circle.
Design: Anderson 1 is relatively simple site with sets of features reminiscent of other sites - it is indicative of a pattern family.
